Fillers
Fillers are naturally occurring synthetic materials that can be used to revitalize the youthfulness of your lips and face. They can also be used to soften facial wrinkles and creases. They enhance the shallow contours, add more volume to your face and give immediate results. The treatment isn’t permanent, and they need to be repeated at regular intervals. Fillers can’t cure sagging of skin.
Any person can be subjected to treatment using fillers provided he has a positive outlook regarding his appearance and is aware that fillers have certain limitations. The ageing process cannot be stopped by dermal fillers that can rejuvenate your look.
There are two kinds of fillers, temporary and semi-permanent.
Collagen, hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite are examples of temporary fillers. Collagen can be used to fill facial hollows. The rest two can be used to cure frown lines, marionette lines and fill nasolabial folds. Together these substances enhance the appearance of the cheeks and face.
PMMA, better known as polymethylmethacrylate, is a semi-permanent filler. 20% of PMMA is suspended in 80 percent of collagen gel. This is used to treat deep wrinkles, nasolabial folds, thin lips, and pitted scars.
Multiple injections need to be given to the deeper areas, and so local anaesthesia is done to make you feel comfortable.
There aren’t many complications after a filler treatment. Temporary numbness, bleeding or bruising may occur, but they subside within a few hours. There is no such recovery period as well; you can resume your daily work immediately.
Filler treatment is not a permanent method, and the treatment needs to be done periodically.
